Experience

This is not a tour of a place so much as a day spent with people. We start at a souk, buying what is in season, then drive out to a village at the foot of the High Atlas where olive, almond and palm trees cover the slopes.

In the family house you are shown the Berber breakfast: mint tea, bread, honey, argan oil and amlou. Then the real work starts. Wood is collected for the oven if you want to help, vegetables are peeled, the tagines are put together, and the bread goes in to bake.

While it cooks you see the rest of the village, including the old medersa with its classrooms, dormitory and dining room. Then you sit down to what you helped make. Afterwards there is time to walk and look over the landscape before the drive back.
