About this activity
What to expect
This is a short outing, around two hours door to door with an hour of it in the saddle. The ranch sits near the King's Palace on the edge of Agadir, and the route loops out through eucalyptus forest to the Souss River, a protected stretch of water where flamingos and other migratory birds gather.
Camels walk at their own pace, so there is nothing to learn and nothing to hold on for. A handler walks with the group the whole way, and the sunset departures stop at a viewpoint as the light goes down behind the dunes, which is the slot most people ask for.
Back at the ranch there is mint tea and Moroccan snacks, and time to sit down before the transfer. We collect and return you from Agadir, Taghazout or Tamraght.

Frequently asked questions
How long is the ride?
About an hour on the camel. With the transfer, the briefing and the tea, allow around two hours in total.
Do I need riding experience?
No. Camels move slowly and a handler walks with the group the whole way.
Can children ride?
Yes. Younger children usually share a camel with an adult, and nothing about the pace is fast.
Will we see flamingos?
The route reaches the Souss River reserve where they gather, but they are wild birds, so it depends on the season.
Which departure is best?
Sunset. The light is at its best and the heat has gone, which is why it fills up first.
What should I wear?
Long trousers or long shorts and closed shoes. Sun cream and a hat for daylight rides, and a light layer for the evening.
