ShoppingLegzira from Taghazout: A Longer Drive South to the Red Arches
Legzira lies south of Agadir and Taghazout lies north, so this is a longer day than it is from the city. The arches, the pottery stop and the ocean lunch stay the same.
Highlights
- Pickup in Taghazout, ahead of the Agadir hotels
- A longer run south, with a pottery workshop on the way
- Tiznit and its silver souk inside the red walls
- The natural arches at Legzira, walkable at low tide
- Moroccan lunch at a restaurant facing the ocean
- Free time on the sand before the drive back
About this trip
Experience
Because the village sits north of Agadir and Legzira sits well south of it, we start earlier from Taghazout and get back later, roughly ten hours in all. We come down the coast to collect you before turning the other way, so expect pickup around 07:35.
The stops along the road make the distance easier. You watch potters at work in a ceramics workshop, then spend time in Tiznit, a town of red walls and silver traders, walking the medina and the silver souk.
Legzira is the reward: a beach where two arches have been cut through the sandstone, walkable when the tide is out. Lunch is served at a restaurant over the water, and there is time afterwards to swim or sit before the long drive back to the village.

Frequently asked questions
How much longer is it from Taghazout?
About an hour more in total than from Agadir, since the village is north of the city and Legzira is south of it.
What time is pickup?
Around 07:35 from the village or Tamraght, and you are back in the early evening.
Are the stops the same?
Yes. The pottery workshop, Tiznit and the beach at Legzira are all included, with lunch at the ocean-view restaurant.
Can I walk under the arches?
At low tide. The tide changes daily, so how close you get depends on when we arrive.
Are drinks included?
No. Drinks are not included and can be purchased separately; the rest of the day is covered.
Is it suitable for children?
Yes, though it is a long day in the vehicle. The beach time in the middle breaks it up.
